Jesus Spirit OR Man?
One of the most important beliefs of historical Christianity is of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul says:
If Christ has not been raised, your faith
is worthless; you are still in your sins.
I Corinthians 15:17
The Watchtower Society says that the man Jesus did NOT rise from the dead. They say:
". . .the man Jesus is dead, forever dead. . ."1 They claim that Jesus was NOT a spirit on earth--but
was a man. So what is the Watchtower really teaching? They are claiming that the one who died for
our sins, the man Jesus, did not rise from the dead!
The word "resurrection" means to raise up what died. The Bible says that the one who died was the
MAN Jesus --the same MAN Jesus. Now, since we all know that a "spirit" did not die for anybody,
then obviously a "spirit" could not have risen form the dead! Yet, they teach that there now is an invisible
spirit in heaven by the name of "Jesus." It is clear that the Watchtower does not teach the resurrection
of
Jesus but instead
teaches his anihilation, and this 'brand new' spirit creature, WHO DID NOT DIE
FOR US, took his place. This spirit creature is the Jesus of the Watchtower, but not the Jesus of the
Bible!
Let's compare this Watchtower teaching to the words of Jesus Himself, shortly after His resurrection.
In Luke, the 24th chapter, beginning with verse 36, Jesus appears to His disciples. They were frightened
and thought that He was a materialized spirit. Remember, the Watchtower teaches that Jesus at this point
after His resurrection was a materialized spirit. 2Yet, in verse 39, Jesus comforts his disciples and says:
See MY hands and MY feet, that it is I MYSELF, touch ME and see, for
A SPIRIT DOES NOT HAVE FLESH AND BONES, AS YOU SEE
THAT I HAVE.
Jesus said it in the strongest way he could; He was risen from the dead. He presented physical proof-
-His HUMAN BODY!
The Watchtower says the man Jesus is dead, and that a spirit named Jesus is in heaven. But the Bible
says these words in 1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the MAN Christ Jesus.
